Lake Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia

We left Berastagi with ashes and headed to Danau Toba, a 4 hour drive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Toba
It is a spectacular lake, really large and a destination for many tourists in this area.

Roadside coffee drying.
There are several ferries from Parapat, this one goes to Tuk Tuk where our lodging was.
Fellow passengers.

Our cottage was modest, with a roof in the Batak style, common on Samosir island. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samosir

We headed off on a scooter ride, remembering to drive on the left side of the street.
Look carefully in the wallows for a large water buffalo.
This Batak style of architecture is common on Samosir.

We had a great but short time in Tuk Tuk, but had to make it back to Medan for a flight to Singapore.
