Shutdown Bangkok, Bangkok, Thailand

Jiro and I were in Bangkok the week before the Monday, 13th Shutdown Day. Our hotel just happened to be at the intersection where the largest numbers of protesters were. These photos are on the Wednesday before the Monday protest. As you've heard on the news, the protests continue and there has been one death so far. Here's a link to today's newshttp://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303802904579329913068806566

The noise was deafening as each protester had a whistle and everyone was blowing on them full blast. It added a lot of drama to the situation, more so that just shouting.
I'm writing this after the fact, as I was behind the "no good working Internet in Myanmar" curtain for the last two weeks. Today, before I came through Bangkok airports, I removed my protester ribbons from my backpack in order to facilitate a smooth trip through both airports. It worked, no glitches.
